Absolut Vodka Brief A History
The internationally acclaimed brand, Absolut Vodka, has become the third largest spirit brand in the world. The exceptional quality of Absolut Vodka has helped to establish its hold on the world market and makes it Sweden’s single largest export in the food & drink category.
Established in 1879 by Lars Olsson Smith, whose portrait graces each bottle, Absolut Vodka has been produced in the small town of Åhus in the south of Sweden for over 135 years.
Absolut uses two main ingredients within its Vodka; Winter Wheat, that brings its smooth mellow flavor, and fresh artesian spring water which is enriched with minerals. This, together with its distilling process (where Absolut distills their Vodka hundreds of times, unlike other brand that usual distill only three or four times) creates a distinct and extra smooth Vodka.
Being made purely from natural ingredients with no added sugar wasn’t pure enough for Absolut; they also wanted to be as pure and eco-friendly as possible with its creation. As a consequence, their new bottling plant is heated by 97% renewable energy and all waste is collected, analysed and sorted.
Pure, fresh and smooth; Absolut Vodka is perfect to be sipped neat, over ice or mixed into your favourite cocktail.
