Moto Z Force vs One Plus 3T – Are MODS your thing?

Motorola is an old brand whereas OnePlus is a new brand, but it has given a tough competition to Moto phones. OnePlus phones have all the features of high range phones but come at an affordable price. Moto Z comes with a Moto Mods, which is a unique and great feature of Moto Phones. Let us see which one is better!

Design and Display:

Moto Z Force has a slim and metallic body with the screen size of 5.5 inches. It has the dimensions of 153.3 (H) x 75.3 (W) x 5.1 (T) mm. Because of being athin device, it weighs only 136 grams and will be available in two colours, black and gold.

Moto Z Force features a 2K Ultra High definition display of 5.5 inches. The display is very sharp. It has the resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and amazing pixel density of 534 PPI. It uses AMOLED display type and is protected by Gorilla Glass scratch resistant display. The screen to body ratio is 72.07 %.

OnePlus 3T also has a metallic body with the same screen size of 5.5 inches with the dimensions of 152.7 (H) x 74.7 (W) x 7.3 (T) mm. It is slightly heavier than Moto Z force and weighs 158 grams. It is available in two colours Gun Metal and Soft Gold. Moto Z force has an additional feature of being a splash resistant phone and is also shatter proof device.

OnePlus 3Tlacks 2K display butsports a sharp full High Definition (FHD) display with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It also has lesser pixel density of 401 PPI. The screen to body ratio is 72.94 %. It comes with an Optic AMOLED display which is protected with Gorilla Glass 4.

About the physical appearance, there is a Moto logo at the bottom of the device. The area below the display also has a square fingerprint sensor. It uses on screen navigation buttons. Above the display lies the 5MP front camera and LED flash. The power key and volume keys lie on the right side of the phone. There is nothing on the left side. The top houses the single SIM and card tray. At the bottom lies the USB Type C connector. This device lacks 3.5 mm jack in this phone. You have to use USB headphones with this device.

Flipping the device, the back of Moto Z houses a 21 Mp rear camera with dual colour LED flash below it. This phone has a special feature of MOTO Mod which allows you to connect a battery module, projector or a speaker module to the back of the device.

OnePlus 3T, also sports a fingerprint scanner on the front side below the display. There is no branding on the front side of this phone.Above the display lies the 16 MP front camera. In this device, the volume keys and alert slider lie on the left side whereas power key and dual SIM tray on the right. This phone doesn’t support expandable memory card but supports 3.5mm jack which is located at the bottom of the device. Charging slot or USB type C port is also located at the bottom of the device. At the back lies the 16 MP rear camera and LED flash. This device doesn’t support MODs.

Performance:

Performance wise OnePlus 3Tis slightly ahead of Moto Z Force. Moto Z force comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 chipset and uses Quad core 2.15 GHz, Dual core, Kryo + 1.59 GHz, Dual core, Kryo processor. It has 4 GB of RAM. OnePlus 3T uses faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Processor and runs on Quad core 2.35 GHz. It has larger RAM of 6 GB. For graphics, both the devices use Adreno 530 GPU.

Software:

None of the devicesrun on the latest Android Nougat (7.0). Both the devices run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Moto Z force comes with Moto enhancements like Moto Voice and Moto display. OnePlus 3T has the latest Oxygen 3.5.3 on top.

Camera and Storage:

Moto Z Force includes an amazing 21 MP rear camera with laser autofocus. It has the aperture of 1.8 f and has dual colour LED flash and optical image stabilization. The maximum image resolution is 5288 x 3968 Pixels. It records video at 3840×2160 @ 30 fps, 1920×1080 @ 60 fps. The front camera is just 5 MP but comes with LED flash.

OnePlus 3T comes with 16 MP rear camera andalso supports Optical Image Stabilization. It has an aperture of 2.0 F but lacks laser autofocus and dual colour LED flash.It has the image resolution of 4616 * 3464 pixels. It also allows video recording at 3840×2160 @ 30 fps, 1280×720 @ 120 fps. The selfie camera of One plus 3T is a 16 MP camera without LED flash.

Moto Z Forcehas an internal storage of 32 GB which is expandable up to 2 TB using normal slot. OnePlus 3T has an internal storage of 64 GB which is non-expandable.

Battery and Connectivity:

Both the devices have almost similar battery configuration with Moto Z Force having 3500 mAH battery and OnePlus 3T having 3400 mAH battery. The battery is non-removable in both the devices. Moto Z Force comes with Turbo Charger whereas OnePlus 3T supports dash charging.

Moto Z Force is a single SIM device which supports 4G. OnePlus 3T is also a dual SIM device with both the slots supporting 4G. Both the devices are NFC enabled and support USB TYPE C Charger.

The Verdict:

Moto Z Force has a better display, internal memory, and rear camera than the OnePlus 3T. Moto Z also comes with Moto Mods. OnePlus 3 T gives better performance and has better front camera than Moto Z Force.

Moto Z Force price in India is projected to be Rs39990 whereas OnePlus 3T costs Rs29,999.
