Scholarship For StudentsScholarships are very important much important for the students in order to encourage and support them in their studies even at the higher levels. Scholarships are the token amount which may be presented in any form to the students who have received it or deserve it.Scholarships are awarded to need based and merit based students to support them as well as their parents to complete their studies. The scholarships that are given to the students before the Matriculation level that is from class 1 to 10 are called the Pre-Matric Scholarships in India. One of the well known scholarship of India is Pre-Matric MOMA Scholarship.

The scholarship at the pre-matric level help and support the parents of the students who belong from minority community to encourage their children to go to the school and pursue their studies without any economic burden.The minority community in India includes Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis and Buddhists. The students who get the scholarship before their matric level can complete their school education. The scholarship not only help the students to complete their school education but also forms the base of their primary education system and opens up opportunity for higher studies and also make them competitive in the employment domain.

The scholarship apart from providing financial help and support to the parents as well as the students also helps to maintain the socio economic aspects and condition of the minority communities. The scholarship is awarded to the students of class 1 to 10 f any government or private school. The scholarship is provided by the Central Government and distributed through State Government. The distribution of the scholarship is done in all the State and Union Territories in India. The distribution is made on the basis of population of minorities in the States/Union Territories. The scholarship is awarded to the students who have scored atleast 50% in the previous final examination and the annual income of their parent/guardian from all the sources do not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh.

The reward for the scholarship includes tuition fees, admission fees and maintenance allowance. The rate of the maintenance allowance per month for hostelers of Class 1 to 5 are NIL and for class 6 to 10 is Rs.600. The maintenance allowance for non-hostelers of class 1 to 10 is Rs. 100 per month.30% of the scholarship is reserved for the girls students and in any case if the number of eligible girls students are not available, then the rest of the earmarked scholarships are given to the boy students who are eligible to it.The scholarship is provided for the entire course in each academic year and the maintenance allowance is given for 10 months only in an academic year.

The scholarship will not be provided to more than two students from a family. To avail the Scholarship, the students should be regular in classes and they must provide the income certificate of their parents/guardian that is issued by the Competent Authority declared by the State Government/UT administration.
